For the first time on the Hilo Public Library lanai, the Big Island Chess Club recently sponsored a Chess Simul Game starring chess master Burt Izumikawa, who simultaneously beat 10 players ranked advanced to intermediate, and then bested another 12 players in Round 2.
For the first time on the Hilo Public Library lanai, the Big Island Chess Club recently sponsored a Chess Simul Game starring chess master Burt Izumikawa, who simultaneously beat 10 players ranked advanced to intermediate, and then bested another 12 players in Round 2.
Izumikawa is certified as a chess master by the U.S. Chess Federation and FIDE, the World Chess Federation (Federation Internationale des Echecs, known as FIDE from its French acronym). For more information, visit www.fide.com/fide/fide-world-chess-federation.html.
